HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Even though they're hundreds of miles away - flood damage crews in the Charlotte area were ready to lend a hand on Thursday.

Home restoration companies loaded up and headed out loaded with supplies before Hurricane Earl made its mark. Earl's big potential for damage kept AdvantaClean employees busy on Thursday afternoon and into the evening

"First thing you want to do is get some trucks and some equipment on the ground to kind of assess the situation," said Josh Nixon, AdvantaClean.

Two trucks will head east from the Huntersville warehouse either late Thursday night or early Friday morning—ready to tackle what could be a mess in the Outer Banks. Crews will be equipped with everything from humidifiers and cleaning supplies to floor covers and drying systems.

For those going—it's a chance to assist in what could be North Carolina's biggest hurricane in years.

"These are exciting times for us, the chance to do things a little bit bigger," said Nixon.

It's an opportunity no one knows the full extent of until after Hurricane Earl passes. Until then, these crews will be in position close by.
