How do I know if I have a problem?

Mold grows best in warm, damp, and humid conditions and can quickly find a breeding ground in a home or office if there are problems with improper ventilation, leaks, or flooding.

Six Warning Signs of Mold:

  • Sunken areas in baseboards which appear when mold has consumed the wood behind the paint. The paint itself is often cracked and peeling.
  • Separation of the baseboard from the wall or from the floor.
  • White patches under carpet or linoleum, in cabinets, or behind furniture.
  • Staining, swelling, or crumbling of plaster or sheetrock.
  • Discoloration around air conditioning vents.
  • Vine-like “branches” from the soil to the foundation, framing, or underside of flooring. These “branches” are usually white, brown, or black in color.
